Porcelain Veneers

Thin custom-made porcelain shells that cover the front surface of your teeth — a long-lasting solution for a smile you'll feel confident about.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells of dental porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They can change the colour, shape, size, and overall appearance of your smile in a way that looks completely natural.

Veneers are a popular choice for patients who want to address staining that doesn't respond to teeth whitening, chips or cracks, uneven or worn teeth, minor spacing or alignment issues, or simply want a more uniform and confident smile.

Are Veneers Right for Me?

The best candidates for veneers are patients with healthy teeth and gums who want to improve the appearance of their smile. During a consultation, Dr. Andrews will assess your teeth, discuss your goals, and give you an honest recommendation.

What Does Treatment Involve?

Veneers typically require at least two appointments. At the first, a small amount of enamel is removed from the front of each tooth to create space for the veneer. An impression or digital scan is taken and sent to a dental lab.

At the second appointment, the custom veneers are set in place and adjusted for fit, bite, and aesthetics. You'll be able to provide feedback on the colour and shape of your veneers. If any adjustments need to be made by the lab, they're sent back for a couple of days. If they're perfect, they're bonded directly to your natural tooth.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. They're stain-resistant and durable under normal use. It's not recommended to bite into hard foods with your veneers, and we highly recommend wearing a nightguard to protect them from wear during sleep.

frequently asked questions

Do you offer direct billing to insurance?

Yes, we direct bill most major insurance providers, so you typically only pay the portion not covered by your plan.

Do you see emergency dental patients?

We do our best to accommodate urgent dental issues — call our office directly and let us know you're dealing with a dental emergency so we can find you the earliest available appointment.

Are you accepting new patients in Sidney?

Yes, we're currently welcoming new patients at our Sidney, BC dental clinic. You can book online or call our office to get started.

What's better... whitening your natural teeth or getting veneers?

Whitening lightens the natural shade of your existing teeth, while veneers are thin porcelain shells that cover the front of your teeth to change their shape, size, or color — veneers are a better option if you're dealing with chips, gaps, or permanent staining.

What should I bring to my first appointment as a new patient?

Please bring your dental insurance information and a list of any medications you're currently taking.
