Your Dentist in Sidney, BC.
A good general dentist isn't just someone you see twice a year. They're the person who knows your history, catches things early, coordinates your care when specialists are needed, and looks after your whole family under one roof. That's what we aim to be for our patients here in Sidney.
Preventive Care
Prevention is always less expensive — and less uncomfortable — than treatment. Our team provides dental hygiene and professional cleanings, digital x-rays, oral cancer screening, and periodontal therapy for patients with gum health concerns. Routine visits let us catch small problems before they become big ones, and build the kind of history that makes your care better over time.
Restorative Dentistry
When a tooth needs attention, we handle most restorations right here in Sidney. That includes composite fillings, crowns, inlays, and onlays, dental bridges for missing teeth, and dental implants to replace teeth that can't be saved. For teeth beyond repair, we also perform tooth extractions.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Looking better and feeling more confident about your smile is a legitimate goal, and we take it seriously. Our cosmetic services include Invisalign™ clear aligners, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and botulinum toxin treatments for facial aesthetics. Dr. Andrews will always give you an honest read on what's right for your smile and your situation.
Care for the Whole Family
We see patients of all ages — from children getting comfortable with their first dental visits to adults looking for a long-term dental home. We also offer dedicated care for senior patients. If you're looking for one office that can look after everyone in your household, we're set up for that.

frequently asked questions
Do you see emergency dental patients?
We do our best to accommodate urgent dental issues — call our office directly and let us know you're dealing with a dental emergency so we can find you the earliest available appointment.
Do you offer dental hygiene appointments without seeing a dentist first?
Yes — you can book directly with one of our dental hygienists for a cleaning without a separate dentist exam, though we'll always flag anything that needs a dentist's attention. Many of our patients prefer to see their regular dentist for checkups and come to us for cleanings because our office is calmer and the schedule is more accessible.
If I have a cavity, do I need a filling or a crown?
A filling repairs a small area of tooth damage or decay, while a crown covers the entire visible portion of a tooth — it's typically used when too much structure is lost for a filling to hold up, or after procedures like a root canal.
How long do dental fillings last?
Modern composite fillings typically last 7 to 10 years with good oral hygiene, though this varies based on the size of the filling and daily wear. It also depends on how complicated the filling is, and where the filling is placed. Fillings along the gumline or fillings that go below the gumline may need to be completed with a different material (because composite is moisture sensitive) and these areas are harder for your toothbrush to reach. Larger fillings can mean there is less natural tooth structure available, which means the remaining tooth is more likely to break in the future. A longer term solution for a tooth that needs a very large filling is to place a crown, which is like a protective armored shell for a tooth.
What should I bring to my first appointment as a new patient?
Please bring your dental insurance information and a list of any medications you're currently taking.
Do you use white (composite) fillings or metal fillings?
We mostly use tooth-colored composite fillings, which blend naturally with your teeth and avoid the dark appearance of older metal amalgam fillings; however, in some cases it is actually better to use an amalgam filling, because they are not sensitive to moisture.
Are you accepting new patients in Sidney?
Yes, we're currently welcoming new patients at our Sidney, BC dental clinic. You can book online or call our office to get started.
How often should I get my teeth professionally cleaned?
Many patients benefit from a professional cleaning at least every six months, though many more people with gum disease, a higher risk of cavities, or simply a faster rate of tartar buildup may need visits every three to four months. Often as we age, our mouths become dryer, which leads to higher rate of cavities and tartat buildup. Our dental hygienists in Sidney can recommend a schedule based on your specific oral health.
What's the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep cleaning?
The honest answer is that there really isn't a difference between the two. Our experienced hygienists ensure that you receive a thorough cleaning, whether the tartar is built up above the gumline or below. "Deep Cleaning" is a bit of a buzzword and sometimes refers to when the hygienist uses manual tools to scrape the tartar off the root surface of a tooth. Wherever the tartar is stuck, it is necessary to remove.
Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes, we accept CDCP and offer direct billing for eligible patients, so you won't need to pay upfront and claim it back yourself.
